Bridge Construction Crew, Little Falls, Edmunds, Maine

View of the construction crew building the bridge over Hobart Stream in 1926 at Little Falls, Edmunds, Maine. The Isaac Hobart house and barns can be seen on the hill on the other side of Hobart Stream.
In 1926 a new cement bridge and approaches were built about fifty feet upstream from the old iron bridge. Although the bridge itself was completed in the fall, a small crew continued to work during the winter, blowing out the ledge on the eastern side of the stream and putting the rock at each end of the bridge for filling. Although travel across the iron bridge was discontinued, the pink bridge stood in place until World War II when it was appropriated for scrap iron.
