Benjamin Hobart House, rebuilt in Edmunds, Maine
Photograph
When the Benjamin Hobart House burned to the ground in the late 1990's, his daughter Drucilla, who lived there at the time with her husband Max Clemens, had the house reconstructed to its original specifications on the same foundation.
Benjamin Hobart, eldest son of Sydney and Ada (Morong), built his dwelling on Stone Wall Hill about 1910, on land that had been in possession of the Hobart family since the purchase of the township in 1786. Following the death of his granddaughter Drusilla, the house, which had been rebuilt after a fire, was sold out of the family.
