Lyon's Brothers owned a steam mill in lower Dennysville, which was located on a point of land called the "Head-of-the-Tide," the dividing line between Pembroke and Dennysville. Although there are no records to indicate when this mill was started, it was in full operation by 1900. In January of that year the Lyons Brothers were already sawing laths and were expected to bring at least a million feet of lumber down the river in the spring. Two buildings served as boarding houses for the Lyons Brothers' Mill. Timbers from the mill wharf were used for bed logs when the "David Cohen" was launched by Pushee Brothers in 1918.
