Theodore Lincoln Portrait and Family Gravestones
Photograph
Photographic portrait of Theodore Lincoln, born in Hingham, Massachusetts, in 1763, taken around 1850, a few years before his death in 1852. From his arrival on May 17, 1786 with a group of townsmen from Hingham, he led the development of the community on the Dennys River, and oversaw the settlement of Townships No. 1 and 2, which later became the towns of Dennysville, Perry and Pembroke. In 1799 he married Hannah Mayhew of Bucks Harbor, near Machias, raising a large family together, many of whom are buried in the Dennysville Town Cemetery.
