    Smith-Kelly House, Edmunds, Maine

    The Smith-Kelly House on the South Edmunds Road in Edmunds, Maine.

    This house was built by Robert T. Smith, one of the sons of William H. and Deborah (Carter) Smith who came to Edmunds in 1813. After Robert's death the house was occupied by Irving and Mildred (Hallowell) Kelley. They had 2 daughters, Kathleen and Dorothy "Dot". Kathleen was a schoolteacher and came home summers following her father's death.

    South Edmunds Road, Edmunds, Maine,; Three Smith brothers built their houses on the South Edmunds Road, Robert T., later occupied by Irving Kelly's family, John H., whose house burned in 1950 while occupied by Bernard Sr. and Ruth (Smith) Cox, and Thomas and Sarah Jane (Holland) Smith, whose house was later occupied by the Knapton brothers.
