    Two views of the Upper Bridge and Lincoln family mills in these photographs by Edmunds photographer Dr. John P. Sheahan, taken in the middle of the 1880's.
    Upper Bridge on the Dennys River, Dennysville, Maine, c. 1885; The Lincoln's Mills are visible just above the Upper, or upstream, Bridge on the Dennys River. The horse a buggy in all likelihood belonged to the photographer, Dr. John P. Sheahan. Some of the State Seal Pines in Edmunds rise above the mill dam on the left side of the river. Water pours from the sluice on the right in the photograph by Dr. John P. Sheahan.
    The Lincoln Mills and Upper Bridge over the frozen Dennys River, c. 1885; The mills visible in this picture include, right to left, the bone and grist mill, the saw mill, and the corner of the box and novelty mill. Water pours from the sluice running under the right end of the Upper Bridge, while an ice cap teeters on the large rock associated with John James Audubon in the middle of the river.
