Smith Cemetery, South Edmunds Road, Edmunds, Maine
In the woods across the road from the site of the Hallowell District School, which burned March 23, 1950, is the cellar hole of the home of William H. and Deborah (Carter) Smith, who came to Edmunds in 1813. Of their eleven children, three sons built houses on the South Edmunds Road. A graveyard collection of stones dating from the Civil War, across from the Hallowell District Schoolhouse site. The cemetery is now grown up with trees and a modern house was built nearby.
