Fish Weir on the Dennys River
Photograph
View of a fish weir on the Dennys River at low tide, with the Lincoln Dock, Wharf and Corn Hill in the background in the latter half of the nineteenth century. Trapping salmon in the estuary of the Dennys was made illegal in 1936, though the illegal netting of salmon on both the upper and lower reaches of the Dennys River continued well to the twentieth century.
