Azor Baker House, Dennysville, Maine
Azor Baker became a member of the Congregational Church on July 11, 1858, along with Miss Eliza Baker, under the pastorate of the Reverend Edward P. Baker (1857-1860). Under his ministry, the Church saw the removal of the high pulpit and fine woodwork that was installed when the meetinghouse was built in 1834. Azor and his wife, Hannah (Eastman) Baker lived in this house on King David Hill in 1861. George W. Kilby was living here in 1881; later it became the home of Mrs. Annie Conant and Miss Helen Cleland, and was subsequently occupied by James and Ann (Griffin) Stevens. In 1972, Ann Stevens began operating a "Cash and Carry Discount" here, attracting bargain hunters from around the area.
