Meeting House, Dennysville, Maine
Photograph
Images of the Congregational Meeting House, with a view of the nearby Town Schoolhouse built in 1857 to replace and earlier structure. The Meetinghouse of the Dennysville-Edmunds Congregational Church was built in 1834, on the hilltop location where the town school originally stood. By prior agreement, the schoolhouse was moved one hundred feet to the south when the time came for the Church, organized in 1805, to build a meetinghouse of its own, as the spot was considered by all as "beautiful for situation." A new Parish Hall was erected on the north side of the original structure in gratitude for the 200th anniversary of the founding of the congregation in 2005.
