Stephen H. Jones House Site, Dennysville, Maine
Map
The dwelling of Stephen H. and Eliza Jones, erected on the lot next to his brother, Samuel's, was the birthplace of their eleven children. For many years, while he was the mail contractor from Machias to Eastport, the Stephen Joneses operated a stage house. The house also served as the residence of Walter and Nellie (Harrison) Dodge, and Mrs. Rebecca Stoddard before being purchased by Jesse and Grace (Robinson) Crosby, who were succeeded by their daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Glenn Stevens. The house was later the home of George and Violet Stevens before being unoccupied and finally torn down about 2015.
