    Richard Hobart, Sr. House Site, Little Falls, Edmunds, Maine. An interior photograph, taken in 1981, shows the mantel taken from the earlier Isaac Hobart House and adapted for reuse in this 1926 house.

    Richard Hobart, Sr. great grandson of Benjamin Hobart, purchased the dwelling originally built in 1806 by Isaac Hobart Sr., but which had fallen into disrepair, and had it torn down. In 1926 Richard had a new house built on the same location by his brother Benjamin and local carpenter, Willis Andrews, using materials from the old house. Richard Sr., and Marion (McRae) Hobart brought up their three children in the house overlooking Hobart Stream. Shortly before Richard Sr.'s death Dana and Joyce (Stevens) Cox purchased the house, which was later dismantled.

    Fireplace mantel from Richard Hobart Sr. House removed from the earlier Isaac Hobart House, built in 1806..; A section of this mantel piece was removed to allow for it's re-use in the house built by Richard Hobart, Sr. in 1926, visible as a vertical line in this image. this mantel, and the missing section are both preserved by the Dennys River Historical Society, in a gift from his niece, Rebecca Weston Hobart. Old and new bridges over Hobart Stream in 1927; Richard Hobart, Sr.'s house was under construction on the hill when this photograph was taken following the construction of new cement bridge in 1926, to replace the old iron one beside it.
