Photograph
The Edwin Kilby homestead on King Street in Dennysville later became the residence of Foster and Ruby Leighton.
William Kilby died in 1847 at the age of thirty-two, leaving a widow, Elizabeth (Ward) and three young children, George W., Elvira, and Eliza. In 1849 Elizabeth married her husband's brother Edwin Kilby, with whom she had a son, William E. In later years, Eliza, with her half-brother William E., resided in this small house, previously owned by Edwin B. Kilby, son of Benjamin L., and later the home of Foster and Ruby (Trott) Leighton.
