Route 1 Bridge, Dennysville, Maine
Photograph
The U.S. Route 1 bridge over the Dennys River was built in 1955 to bypass the village of Dennysville. In several of these views it is viewed from the Dennys River at low tide, with Dennysville is on the left, and Edmunds on the right side of the picture.
This small island bar stands in the middle of the estuary of the Dennys River. At one time it was the location of several small trees, but has since become part of the substratum of the tidal reach into the Dennys River, before it narrows into the half mile passage up through the villages of Dennysville and Edmunds.
