    The gravesite of Isaac and Joanna Hobart, founders of the town of Edmunds, is still marked out by a fine cast iron railing, though sadly neglected. The site once commanded an engaging view of the surrounding community as seen in the photograph taken from this spot by Dr. John P. Sheahan around 1890.

    Gravestones of Isaac and Joanna Hobart, Edmunds, Maine; This site marks the graves of Isaac Hobart, son of Colonel Aaron Hobart, the original Proprietor of Township No. 10, later Edmunds, and his wife Joanna (Hersey) Hobart.
    Isaac Hobart Grave stone; The inscription reads: Iron corner post for fence railings around Isaac Hobart Grave Site.; Now sadly overgrown, this fine cast iron railing once delimited the gravesite of Isaac and Joanna Hobart, the founding member of the original Proprietor's family of Township No. 10, which later became Edmunds, Maine. During the Second World War much iron was collected for the war effort, probably explaining the absence of the individual railings around these important Hobart graves. The headstones and footstones are still recognizable.
