    Aaron Hobart, son of Isaac, Sr., erected his home on the point of land across the Dennys River from the Lincoln estate, which had been occupied by Samuel Scott when the Lincolns came, and by Nathaniel Hobart between about 1790 and 1796. This residence was built in the usual pattern for that time, the large, two-story main house being added in 1838 to the smaller, previously-built ell. Aaron married (1) Mary Kilby, daughter of William and Mary (Wilder) Kilby, and (2) Catherine Eastman, daughter of Thomas, Sr., and Elizabeth (Wilder) Eastman, and had several children. This dwelling changed hands many times before being purchased by Neil and Nellie (Walker) Mclaughlin, who lived there for about sixty years.
