Potato Barns and farm house help to maintain the agricultural usage of the fields on the edge of the esker in Meddybemps, Maine.
Robert Gillespie built the first barn in the 1930s, and another in the 1960s to store the annual potato harvest. In the 1960s, 50 lbs. of potatoes sold for $1.35. At the present time the barns are used for storage.
