Harrison-Sylvia Houses, Edmunds, Maine
Photograph
Two cape style houses on the Harrison Road in Edmunds, Maine, were occupied in 1861 by W. and J.W. Harrison. For much of the twentieth century they were the adjacent homes of brothers Charles "Charlie" and Walter Sylvia and their families.
W. Harrison lived in this house between 1860 and 1881, which for much of the twentieth century became the home of schoolteacher Charles Sylvia and his wife Ruby. The next house was occupied by J.W. Harrison in 1860, and by C.E. Abbot in 1881. During the latter part of the 20th century it was the home of Phyllis and her husband Walter Sylvia, a carpenter.
