DESCRIPTION:Holmes Cottage & Museum\, Calais\, Maine\nThe July summer outing of the Dennys River Historical Society will be a visit to the Holmes Cottage in Calais.  Meet at the Lincoln Library parking lot at 9 AM on Wednesday\, July 23 to carpool to Calais.  Local historian Gerry Lapointe will lead our private tour  After the tour\, we will gather for a picnic\, so bring a lunch! \nHolmes Cottage was the home and office of Dr. Job Holmes\, the third physician to conduct a medical practice at this location.  According to the record\, the structure was built in the 1790s\, and is now furnished to reflect Dr Holmes home and doctor’s office in the 1850s.  To learn more about the building and Dr. Holmes\, visit the website of the St. Croix Historical Society \n  \n
